EXPERT WITNESS

Cueto Engineering offers subject matter experts available to consult and testify regarding issues related to construction deficiencies, design errors and omissions, insurance claims and other cases involving litigation. These experts provide services including design reviews, code compliance evaluation, inspections, evaluation reports, and testimony based on the scope required to present unbiased opinions for each particular project. Below is our standard approach to each case:

Task 1 – Initial Review and Conference

  • Discuss the case and review information with clients and their representatives.

Task 2 – Engineering Investigation

  • Perform an engineering investigation, observe existing conditions, and prepare a record of the evidence by photograph, diagrams and/or video, depending on the evidence being recorded.

Task 3 – Preliminary Analysis

  • Review reports, statements, deposition transcripts and other documents provided.
  • Collect additional data relevant to the investigation and perform a preliminary analysis.
  • Review our preliminary findings with you and we will suggest additional analysis or studies that we believe to be useful in rendering a final opinion

Task 4 – Detailed Studies

  • Conduct detailed studies based on preliminary analysis and after consultation. These studies may include, literature searches, computer simulations, field tests, detailed inspections, and consultations.

Task 5 – Reporting and Final Opinions

  • Report findings and provide final opinion based on a mutually agreed schedule.
  • Provide technical engineering input into the case.
  • Written report will be prepared as authorized.

Task 6 – Expert Testimony and Consultation

  • Provide services during mediation, arbitration, or litigation, including testifying as an expert in depositions and trial within the area of expertise as may be required for the subject case.
