2. Ask the previous owners if they happen to have an old floor plan in their files.
The Bill established a statewide structural inspection program, requiring Condominium and Cooperative Associations to conduct Milestone Structural Inspections of their buildings and to perform Structural Integrity Reserve Studies in order to ensure that Condominium and Cooperative buildings are safe for continued use.
The recertification process involves performing structural and electrical inspections including infrared thermography, night-time readings of the parking lot illumination, as well as any guardrail certifications if the property is adjacent to a body of water.
In Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, buildings which have been in existence for forty (40) years or longer are required to be inspected by a registered professional engineer for the purpose of evaluating the general structural and electrical conditions.
